I was very excited to see that the Beverly Hills Chihuahua game I developed was showcased on the home page of CreateJS.com. I really love the platform, and I’m obviously a huge fan of Grant Skinner, so it’s definitely an honor. They were also kind enough to link my TexturePacker post under Learning Resources as well!
This project really proved that there is some serious power in the new Flash CS6 exporting tools, in conjunction with the amazing CreateJS suite. All animations and effects were laid out in Flash, and exported as CreateJS objects. Taking this approach made it possible to quickly develop a Flash fallback version of the game as well. I’m looking forward to working with Flash and CreateJS for my future HTML5 games.
I recently started using EaselJS and I have to say it’s pretty great. I’m really loving the way I can easily group bitmaps into containers and easily remove or swap child depths inside of them. This is a very logical approach, whether you come from Flash or not.
